Due to the increased volume in mail the post office recieves during the holiday, the post office has suggested mailing deadlines for mail going to and from the U.S., they are-

Abandoned vehicles
Security Forces investigations office will remove abandoned vehicles free of charge and without retribution. U.K. specification vehicles may bring the V-5, pink card and keys to Security Forces Investigations at building 1165. U.S. spec. vehicles require a form 5, V-5, pink card and keys. Tops in Blue Takes Applications
Applications are being accepted for the Tops in Blue World Wide Talent Competition being held Dec. 2 to10. Vocalists, dancers, instrumentalists, comedians, magicians, dramatists and technicians are welcome to apply. The application deadline is Oct. 26. Microsoft Certification Program

WIC Overseas
Women, Infants and Children Overseas offers free milk, infant formula and other foods to eligible families. WIC staff can answer questions about breast-feeding, starting solids and any other questions. For more information, call 226-1728.

Breast-feeding support group
A breastfeeding support group meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at 11 a.m. at the Lakenheath WIC Overseas Office, Bldg 950. For more information, call 226-1728.

Animal welfare officer
The animal welfare officer handles all pet concerns. The AWO provides education and information on owning a pet on a military installation. For more information, call the pet welfare office at 226-5796.

Airman and Family Readiness Center Oct. courses

Heart Link
A Spouses Orientation Program targeting new Air Force spouses is Oct. 17.

Financial foundations
Financial foundations training is Oct. 12, 19 and 26 from 8 to 9 a.m. The money management class includes goal setting, budgeting, credit and debt management and basic investing.

Newcomer's bus tour
A newcomer's bus tour is Oct. 19 and 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The tour includes visiting the historical town of Bury St. Edmunds, the cathedral, eating in a pub, shopping and free time to explore. The tour on Oct. 12 will be to Duxford Imperial War Museum.

Bundles for Babies
A bundles for babies course is Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. This is an educational program for expectant parents, which focuses on budgeting for a baby, bonding with your baby, WIC Overseas Office and childcare options.

Employment connections
An employment connections course is Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon. This class will instruct on the local labor market and what jobs are available on and off base. Personnel specialists will be available to answer questions concerning hiring procedures.

Four-day transition assistance program workshop
A 4-day TAP workshop is Oct. 16 to 19 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to write effective resumes and cover letters, interviewing techniques and successful job search methods.

Pet scoop
A pet scoop class is Oct. 17 from 3 to 5 p.m. The class provides pet specialists to answer questions regarding transportation requirements for pets and to assist military families in properly planning for the shipment of pets.

Resume writing and interview techniques
A resume writing and interview techniques class is Oct. 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. The class teaches basic resume formatting with sample resumes as well as interviewing skills and techniques.

Pre-separation briefing
A pre-separation briefing is Oct. 16 and 30 from 1 to 3 p.m. and Oct. 9 and 23 from 9 to 11 a.m. The class fulfills the mandatory requirement for all personnel retiring or separating from the military.

How to deter, detect and defend against identity theft
A how to deter, detect and defend against identity theft class is Oct. 23 from 6 to 7 p.m. The class teaches how to defend from identity theft, and what to do if identity has been stolen.

Moms and Tots Morning Movies

Power Hour Incentive Program
Power Hour is an interactive after-school homework assistance program at the Lakenheath Youth Center for children six to 18 years of age weekdays 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Power Hour work is conducted in a fun after-school environment using "Homework Helpers," adults or older students who supervise completion of a Club member's homework. Youth are encouraged to go above and beyond just homework and are given opportunities to earn incentives while completing their tasks.
