Tom Hobbins, U.S. Air Forces Europe commander, visited RAF Lakenheath recently with one purpose, to make Staff Sgt. Adrian Burrows, Tech. Sgt. Adrian Burrows. Sergeant Burrows, an F-15 dedicated crew chief, was promoted under the Stripes for Exceptional Performers, or STEP program. "I was very surprised and shocked when I realized what was happening," said Sergeant Burrows, who has been in the Air Force 10 years. "After the shock subsided, it felt as good as it gets. This is an honor that will forever be the highlight of my career." Sergeant Burrows supervised 28 crew chiefs during the 2006 Riga Summit, where his aircraft flew 28 Combat Air Patrol hours for the President of the United States with a 95.6 percent mission capable rate. At Mountain Home Air Force Base he was selected CANN Dock Chief, a position required to be filled by a technical sergeant here. At RAF Lakenheath, he is currently the supervisor for six personnel, and provides oversight to the Dedicated Crew Chief qualification program for all 68 assigned technicians "In short, hard work and dedication can be very rewarding," said Sergeant Burrows.
