U.S. Air Forces in Europe will conduct an Environmental, Safety and Occupational Health Compliance Assessment Management Program assessment Sep.17 to 21 at RAFs Lakenheath and Feltwell. The ESOHCAMP assessment is designed to help commanders assess the status of their ESOH programs. The assessment, which specifically is not an inspection, provides a "snapshot in time" and is not designed for 100 percent coverage.

During assessment week, team members will make site visits to more than 100 duty sections around the installations. To facilitate the assessment, most site visits are pre-scheduled; however, no-notice site visits are still possible.

Once the assessment is complete, 48th Fighter Wing leadership will receive a final report of the findings. Environmental, bioenvironmental and safety will work with the units with findings to identify the root cause of each finding and develop plans to outline the actions, timeline and funding necessary to correct each finding.

In addition to discrepancies, the ESOHCAMP assessment team looks for instances where a section or individual have gone "above and beyond" Air Force, USAFE or local requirements. Those sections or individuals will receive a "Positive Finding."

To ensure the wing's success on the upcoming assessment, the 2007 ESOHCAMP checklists are available for review on the Intranet. For more information call 226-3990.
