48th Mission Support Group Change of Command Published June 28, 2007 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Col. John G. Clarke took command of the 48th Mission Support Group in a ceremony June 20. The Del Ray Beach, Fla. native took command from Col. Amanda W. Gladney. The group has 2,302 Liberty warriors. The group's mission is to support security, communications, civil engineering, personnel administration, services, contracting, and logistics readiness activities for the 48th Fighter Wing. In addition, the group provides housing, commissary, base exchange, school and recreational activities for people assigned to Headquarters 3rd Air Force and RAF Mildenhall.
