Tech. Sgt. Merlin Choice

Time in service: 19 years
Time on base: 5 years
Hometown: South Carolina Marlins

What were some things she did to go above and beyond?
We are thankful for her selfless devotion to duty. She went above and beyond in everything she did from helping with family and active duty members by showing up for all spouse and pre-deployment meetings. She integrated all the resources into a one stop shop.

What do you think makes a good NCO?
"No doubt the core values which the Air Force is based on. She has shown integrity, service before self, and excellence in all she has done as she carried out her duties and supported our squadron. She is a world class professional."

-- Lt. Col. Will Reese, 494th Fighter Squadron commander

TSgt Merlin Choice was presented with an American flag that flew in an F-15E Strike Eagle for 57 missions and 341.7 flying hours over Iraq and Afghanistan in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom supporting our American Airmen and soldiers.
Lt. Colonel Reese presented the flag to TSgt Choice to thank her for all the hard work she did to supporting the 494th Fighter Squadron while they were deployed.

Please describe your job?
I am the NCO for the Airmen Family Readiness Center. I help families that are preparing to deploy

What motivates you to work so hard?
My love for God and God's love for me and because of that I want to share and assist people any way that I can. I don't think there is a greater joy than to assist people.

What has been your best Air Force experience?
Before I came to the family readiness flight I worked as a chaplain's assistant where the primary focus is to help people. This has been a great experience being able to help such awesome people, because the military Air Force community is the best

What do you like about the Air Force?
Air Force affords us to meet a whole gamut of people that I would not have necessarily met if I had not been a part of the military.
