Furnishings Management Office
The Furnishings Management Office (FMO) will begin charging customers for No Shows in accordance with HQ USAFE/A7CPH supplement dated 4 Jan 07 to AFI 32-6004. The effective date to begin charging for No Shows is 1 April 2007. Personnel coming to FMO to an open account or arranging service will be notified as will personnel calling FMO to arrange haulage or maintenance service. HQ USAFE approved this process with the stipulation the charge cannot exceed the amount actually paid by the government for the service. At present this amounts to 35 pounds for a delivery or pickup and 30 pounds for a maintenance call. However, although FMO has received this authority no charge will be made against any individual until a thorough investigation is completed to include coordination with the individual's organization. If you have any questions or concerns on this issue please call 226-7154 or 226-7334.

Travel
British Airways recently changed the baggage allowance for traveling within Europe. Passengers flying on British Airways within Europe will only be allowed one piece of checked baggage per passenger. There are no exceptions for military travelers. The maximum dimension per bag is 158cm or 62inches and the maximum weight per bag is 23kg or 51 lbs. British Airways will charge a fee of £60.00 for any additional baggage. The fee will apply even if the combined weight of two bags is below the maximum weight limit. Travelers can receive a 30 percent discount on airport charges by pre-paying for excess baggage online. The online charge for excess baggage is £42.00. Military personnel can pay for excess baggage online using their government travel card when traveling on orders. For passengers traveling with infants under 2 years, one fully collapsible stroller and one car seat will be allowed. For more information, call Traffic Management Office 226-1854.
