Airmen from the 48th Fighter Wing participated in the Suffolk Show at Suffolk County Fairgrounds, May 31 – June 01, 2022.

The annual event is one of the UK’s oldest county shows that promotes food, farming, and the community spirit of Suffolk County. With regular participation from the U.S. Armed Services, the event serves as a way to foster relations with the public. Airmen from the 48th Fighter Wing join members of the 100th Air Refueling Wing, 352nd Special Operations Wing, the Royal Air Force, and the 6th Regiment Army Corps in Military Village, an area of the show that gives civilians the opportunity to meet and talk with members of the wider military community about their various roles and capabilities.

“As one of the largest contributors to the Military Village in 2022, the Airmen and Soldiers of the United States Visiting Forces proved to be outstanding ambassadors,” said Squadron Leader Stewart Geary, Royal Air Force Commander at RAF Lakenheath. “Their brilliant capability, demonstrations, and energetic interactions with the general public, members of the UK military and other exhibitors, it had a profound impact on everyone at the show and greatly enhanced relationships with members of the UK military and the local communities of Suffolk.

The Suffolk Show is an event which aims to highlight the very best that the County of Suffolk has to offer. Over 90,000 members of the local community attend the event each year and the Military Zone is one of the areas of the show that attracts the largest number of visitors.
