How does the individual portray this core value?
Coughlin was submitted for a Liberty Spotlight by Master Sgt. Phillip Clark, 48th Civil Engineer Squadron assistant chief of operations. According to Clark, Coughlin is constantly looking forward and figuring out innovative ways to execute the mission with the diminished resources that the Air Force works with. He ensures that, every time the bells ring, the assistant chief has the right resources on scene to successfully handle any emergency.

Why did you join the Air Force?
I joined because of the inner calling to serve and protect others, and taking part in ensuring the safety of my family, friends and the general public.

How does your job support the mission of the 48th Fighter Wing?
My job ensures fire emergency assets are properly manned and positioned. We ensure the safety of RAFs Lakenheath and Feltwell infrastructure, aircraft and personnel.

What drives you as an Airman?
I'm driven to ensure my subordinates are trained, developed and inspired to replace the experienced personnel departing the Air Force.

What skills do you possess that set you apart from others?
My ability to adapt to my surroundings and find solutions to erratic situations set me apart. 

What has been your favorite place to travel in England/Europe, or where would you like to travel to?
My favorite place so far has been Edinburgh.  I plan on traveling to Dublin, Paris, Normandy and Rome.
