Liberty Spotlight: Senior Airman Mosser Published June 10, 2015 By 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Name and Rank: Senior Airman Jeffery Mosser Unit: 493rd Aircraft Maintenance Unit Duty Title: Weapons Load Crew Member Time in Service: 3 years, 10 months Time at RAF Lakenheath: 8 months Hometown: Vail, Colo. Hobbies: Sports bikes, skiing and outdoor adventures Core Value Portrayed: Service Before Self How does the individual portray this core value? Mosser was submitted for Liberty Spotlight by Staff Sgt. Dallas Bergl, 748th Weapons Load Crew Chief. According to Bergl, Mosser is a great example of Service Before Self because anytime a task needs to be accomplished, he is ready to go and does not need to be told what to do. There is never a day that he has an excuse on why he cannot complete a job. He is always the first to step forward to take on a task. His motivation, ambition and aptitude for maintenance make him an excellent example of a "fire-and-forget" Airman. In an environment where we have to be ready to answer our nation's call at a moment's notice, Mosser personifies the Airmen we need to carry out such missions. Why did you join the Air Force? I always had the desire to join the Air Force in the back of my mind throughout high school. When I graduated and realized I wanted more out of life, the Air Force was the answer. The Air Force has been an outstanding opportunity to help fulfill my goals. How does your job support the mission of the 48th Fighter Wing? Being a weapons troop, my job directly supports the functionality of the 48th Fighter Wing by providing fully mission-ready, armed and capable aircraft in the event of any tasking, at any time. What drives you as an Airman? What drives me is seeing the success of my unit and the individuals within it. I want to achieve that success and pay it forward to those future Airmen. I strive to have a positive impact on myself and my peers. What skills do you possess that set you apart from others? Positive followership in terms of getting a task completed with no means wasted and the ability to quickly adapt to changes in mission requirements sets me apart. Last, but not least, my most valuable skill is my mechanical mind-set. What has been your favorite place to travel in England/Europe, or where would you like to travel to? I would love to attend the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy motorcycle races this year.
