How does the individual portray this core value?
Piazza was submitted for a Liberty Spotlight by Tech. Sgt. Angelo McGee, 48th Logistic Readiness Squadron mobility readiness spares packages supervisor. According to McGee, Piazza epitomizes the core value of Service Before Self with his continuous acts of dedication, valor and devotion to the mission of the 48th Fighter Wing. From staying late to complete tasks, to being open-minded with leadership decisions, Piazza has exhibited altruistic behaviors that make him clearly stand out as one of the Liberty Wing's valued Airman.

Why did you join the Air Force?
The Air Force offers great career opportunities with a clear structure for advancement and a sense of belonging to a core group. I also wanted to see the world and enjoy rare opportunities.

How does your job support the mission of the 48th Fighter Wing?
As logisticians, we manage, store and deploy aircraft spare parts in support of 48th Fighter Wing F-15 fighter jets and HH-60G helicopters in the world's greatest Air Force. We integrate with our maintenance brothers and sisters on every temporary duty assignment from the 48th FW, as well as in day-to-day operations in war deterrence efforts.

What is your favorite part of your job?
Gaining technical skills and being part of a bigger picture directly impacting the Air Force mission are my favorite parts of the job.

What drives you as an Airman?
I am driven to create new pathways that allow others to succeed and knowing that my work and efforts positively impact my fellow Airmen.

What skills do you possess that set you apart from others?
My business-centered education background has helped improve the unit's innovation, leadership and resource utilization.

What has been your favorite place to travel in England/Europe, or where would you like to travel to?
Normandy is my favorite place I have visited thus far. I hope to travel to mainland Italy in the near future.
