He set up six foam boards with only the tools necessary for each work station following an Air Force Smart Operations for the 21st Century event. I joined the Air Force because I wanted to do something different from my previous jobs. Also, I was excited about the prospect of traveling, working and living abroad. How does your job support the mission of the 48th Fighter Wing? Plain and simple, my job ensures the pilot lives, even if everything else fails. What is something not many people know about your job? The amount of detail and scrutiny that goes into every single seat. The smallest dent, scratch or cut is looked at with utter care. When doing our job, we have to remember that we hold people's lives in our hands every day. What drives you as an Airman? My job is to ensure that pilots live. If everything else fails, making sure the ejection seat works is my job. I put myself into the shoes of the pilot. As long as I know I would feel completely safe going up in the aircraft, then I know the pilot is going to be just fine. What skills do you possess that set you apart from others? If anything, my determination drives me to succeed and finish any task appointed to me. What has been your favorite place to travel in England/Europe, or where would you like to travel to? Cyprus, hands down. It's expensive, but the beaches are amazing.
