Give to make a difference Published Sept. 10, 2014 By Airman 1st Class Erin O'Shea th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- It's that time of year again when military and civilian personnel can step up and step in by contributing to the success of the 2014 Combined Federal Campaign-Overseas. The campaign was established to support the welfare of more than 2,600 national and international charities and will run from Sept. 8 until Nov. 7. According to the 2014 CFC-O factsheet, pledging through the CFC-O is another way to offer help and hope to those in need. Your charitable donations can help find cures for diseases, feed the hungry, house those displaced by disaster and provide therapy for service members returning from deployments. In support of the campaign, RAF Lakenheath will host a Zombie 5K Run event scheduled for Oct. 31 2014, starting at 4:30 p.m. at the base track. There are several ways to give through CFC-O. You can donate online through DFAS on myPay, by logging onto cfcoverseas.org and clicking the "donate" button, or complete a traditional paper pledge card obtained through your unit representative. Your donation will be debited through a payroll allotment or a recurring credit/debit payment. According to the 2014 CFC-O factsheet, charities depend upon community generosity to care for others, and making a pledge today can make a difference. For more information on this year's campaign, contact your unit CFC-O representatives.
