Core Value Portrayed: Integrity First

How does the individual portray that core value?
Gormely continuously performs his maintenance tasks safely, reliably and by the book. The integrity and discipline of his maintenance practices truly stand out amongst the best of his peers. This is evident as he was named the U.S. Air Forces in Europe Outstanding Armament Technician of the Quarter for January through March 2014.

Why did you join the Air Force?
After constantly changing my long-term goals, I felt a need to step away from my college plans to seek more discipline and structure in my life. I needed to do something that made me feel like I was putting my potential to good use in an environment that would push me to be my best in every aspect of life, not only for myself, but my family and friends as well.

What drives you as an Airman?
Entering into the military later in my life, I feel a need to not only catch up to my peers in knowledge and responsibility, but to share my maturity and life lessons with the younger Airmen who are just now starting their own lives on their own away from home. I feel a responsibility to show the maturity of an NCO and at the same time be humble to the fact that I am still learning as an Airman.

What skills do you possess that set you apart from others?
I am a quick learner with a good memory and a good conscience.

How does your job support the mission of the 48th Fighter Wing?
Ensuring the weapons systems for our helicopters are reliable and in good condition at all times enables our rescue crews to be able to enter any area, whether hostile or not, and recover any and all in need. The value of human life is infinite, and I feel that not only supports the 48th Fighter Wing's mission, but extends to all branches of our military.

What has been your favorite place to travel in England/Europe, or where would you like to go?
I would really like to make a trip to Cornwall, England because I've heard good stories and have seen incredible pictures of the beaches and scenery from the area.
