Keenan D. Kunst Email | 48fw.pa@us.af.mil Release # | 140702 Date | July 16, 2014 Col. Robert Novotny will assume command of the 48th Fighter Wing from Col. Kyle Robinson, who is departing for another Air Force assignment. The Change of Command ceremony will take place at 9 a.m., July 21. The ceremony is an Air Force tradition, which represents the trust of command being passed from one commander to the next. Robinson has served as commander of the 48th FW since 2012. Novotny's previous assignment was as the chief of staff of the 9th Air and Space Expeditionary Task Force, International Security Assistance Force, in Kabul, Afghanistan.
