Hobbies: Ice hockey and golf Core Value Portrayed: "Excellence in All We Do" How does the individual portray that core value? McCormick displays "Excellence in All We Do" on a daily basis by displaying outstanding initiative on-and-off duty. Without hesitation or complaint, he used forming blocks to hand form four precision-measured F-15C Eagle ejection seat leg braces. His craftsmanship saved the 48th Fighter Wing more than $83,000 and ensured pilots have the ability to eject safely. His timeliness returned the ejection seat to the egress back shop for maintenance which was required to make the seat fully mission capable with minimal down time. Although he just came from technical training school, McCormick's attention to detail is at the caliber of a senior airman with four years experience. He is a true role model for his peers and continues to go above and beyond the call of duty in all tasks that come his way. In a short time, he has become a tremendous asset to the aircraft structural maintenance section and the Air Force. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? Serving in the Air Force allows me to learn skills that will help me throughout life and help me to serve my country. My drive is to learn my job and be the best that I can. What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? I assisted in a full paint job for a lead jet and a full refurbishment of an HH-60 Pave Hawk in less than a month. What are your personal and/or professional goals? My goals are to progress my knowledge of structural maintenance, earn my bachelor's degree and get accepted into Officer Training School. What is your favorite part of the job? I enjoy fabricating parts and forming metal into structures that are used on the F-15C Eagle. Structural maintenance allows me to be creative, yet within regulations.
