Fitness is also his passion and was evident when Mattox helped pace an NCO, who was one test failure away from demotion, to a successful finish. Recognized by his peers, he was also recently elected dorm council treasurer. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? Both of my parents were prior Army, so I joined to be different and to better myself. My biggest accomplishment is passing my technical school course with a 95 percent average. What are your personal and/or professional goals? I hope to make staff sergeant on my first time eligible to test for it. Also, I plan to earn a perfect score on my next personal fitness test and a bachelor's degree in the next three years. What is your favorite part of the job? My favorite part of the job is the travelling opportunities I receive and that I get to interact with pilots and other people in different career fields to ensure mission success.
