Members of the 48th Fighter Wing reminisced on the life of a fellow Airman during a memorial service held on Royal Air Force Lakenheath, England, Sept. 22.

Staff Sgt. Joshua Wikston, 48th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron supply technician, was remembered by friends, family and his Liberty Wing family after he passed away Sept. 14.

Wikston’s close friends, coworkers and leadership reflected on the quality of his character, intelligence and his love for his family.

He joined the Air Force Nov. 23, 2010 and arrived at RAF Lakenheath Nov. 19, 2012.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Staff Sgt. Wikston’s family, friends and fellow Airmen,” said Col. Evan Pettus, 48th Fighter Wing commander. “The entire Liberty Wing feels the impact of Josh’s loss. We will do everything we can to support his family through this difficult time, and to care for the members of our team who need assistance in the wake of his death.”
