Zombie outbreak at RAF Lakenheath Published Nov. 1, 2016 By Senior Airman Malcolm Mayfield 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Several zombies were sighted chasing Airmen and their families during the Zombie Run Oct. 31 here. With the possibility of a large scale outbreak, it’s important that Airmen review their Airman’s Zombie Survival Guide, or AZSG. Here are just a few quick tips from the guide:Tip 37: Be FitA large portion of your time in a zombie outbreak will consist of running, so being able to pass the fitness test is just the first step in surviving. Push-ups and sit-ups will be integral to getting back up after a fall, and zombies have been known to run for miles without a break. Your only hope is to out-run them.Tip 43: Attention to DetailIn the daily life of an Airman, ensuring every task is accomplished as precisely and error-free as possible, is crucial and could be the deciding factor between life and death. This key habit will also play a major role in surviving an outbreak. When entering a room, searching for food for setting up camp, being observant and double-checking areas can ensure everyone stays safe.Tip 117: Have a WingmanWingmen are those who provide backup when necessary. Whether it’s a night on the town, a road trip or a zombie apocalypse, having a wingman or several will only increase your odds of making it through safely.Remember, being proactive and putting these tips into practice before the zombie apocalypse will prepare you in the long run. If you have misplaced your AZSG…good luck.
