National Police Week Published May 7, 2010 By Col. Cassie Barlow 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Throughout history, various law enforcement members have proudly donned uniforms and willingly risked their lives to carry out their duties and serve their communities and countries with tireless effort. While doing this, they know full well the unforeseen dangers and challenges they might face each day, as they protect and serve their fellow countrymen with the greatest degree of honor and dignity. Every year, police agencies around the U.S. recognize the sacrifices of law enforcement men and women with a National Police Week. On RAF Lakenheath we will give tribute to law enforcement agencies with our own police week May 9-14 . We will remember the many law enforcement members who have decided to follow a difficult and often life-altering path, as they have taken the oath to serve and protect the greater public by safeguarding life, liberty and property. All are invited to join us in the many activities that will be offered.
