AFAF campaign needs YOU!

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England --  The 2009 Air Force Assistance Fund campaign runs from March 10 to April 21. Our campaign's "Commitment to Caring" theme reflects your support for our four Air Force charities--the Air Force Aid Society, Air Force Enlisted Village, Air Force Villages, and the General & Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation.

In the past years we have pulled together and made a huge impact in the lives of our Airmen who are in need. In 2008, RAF Lakenheath Airmen and their families received $154,032 in loan and grant assistance for basic living needs such as food and rent, vehicle and home repairs and emergency leave travel expenses. We received 38 percent more than what we contributed to last year's campaign!

With this year's challenges, it is even more imperative that we continue to reach out to those in need within our Air Force family. To that end, we ask those of you who have not contributed towards the AFAF campaign in the past, to consider contributing this year. Your personal interest in the campaign will ensure we meet and exceed our $75,000 campaign goal to continue our wingman's tradition of taking care of our own!

Personnel may contribute by cash donation, check or payroll deduction plans. However, civilians cannot donate via payroll deduction plan. Contact your unit representative for more information.
