Take a trip with ITT Published Feb. 14, 2008 By Airman 1st Class Kristopher Levasseur 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- One benefit to serving in the military is being able to travel world-wide and have 30 paid vacation days a year to use. Servicemembers at RAF Lakenheath can use their time to travel anywhere in Europe and thanks to the Information Tickets and Travel office; there are many opportunities to do so. The ITT office offers more than 280 trips each year, which range from local events and tours to cruises, weekend trips and other package deals. "We offer a variety of day tours that are family themed which include amusement parks, Cadbury World, sea life centers, zoos, Robin Hood Festivals, safari parks and outdoor living museums," said Reyne Vanderburg, 48th Services Squadron ITT supervisor. "We also provide discounted group tours to West End shows, castles and stately homes, guided walking tours and other tours specifically geared for London from sightseeing tours to twighlight tours. According to Mrs. Vanderburg, the ITT office also offers travel advice and suggestions for the military community and their visiting family and friends. "ITT trips are a great way to see the country without driving around trying to use a road map and getting lost," said Jill Fuson, ITT patron. "My husband and I took a trip to Bath and really didn't know where to go to see all the sights. It really was a wasted trip, but when we took the ITT trip to Bath, they provided an experienced tour guide." The purpose of the ITT office is to provide quality trips to base personnel at an affordable price. "We offer a layaway program on many of our continental trips ranging from a deposit of £30 per person to £60 per person," said Mrs. Vanderburg. "The customer can make payments at their convenience until it is paid in full two weeks prior to the trip departure." During the duty day, Airmen are required to work hard to complete the mission, but during their downtime, ITT is available to ensure that they can play easy.
