Two local boys earn pilot wings

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England – Max Rowlandson, 5, from Saffron Walden, watches an F-15 fighter jet fly from the aircraft control tower while participating in the Pilot for a Day program June 25, 2013. The visit was specially arranged for Max and another boy battling life-threatening illnesses. The program, founded March 2012, provides sick children in the local community the opportunity to spend a fun day distracted from their continuous hospital visits. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
