“Vicar of Baghdad" visits Lakenheath
ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England – Military members and their families listen to a sermon given by Rev. Canon Andrew White, St. George’s Church vicar, March 24, 2012. St. George’s Church is the largest remaining Anglican church in Iraq, ministering to more than 550 local Iraqi Christian families, which is why White is known as the “Vicar of Baghdad.” White spoke about what led him to leading the church as well as difficulties in running a church in Iraq.
