Ouse River Plunge
Members of the Barracudas Swim Team rush to exit the freezing cold water of the Little Ouse River in Santon Downham, Suffolk, Jan. 1, after their annual New Year’s Day plunge. With the outside temperature only 27 degrees Fahrenheit, 24 people, both team members and their parents, braved the icy waters as part of team’s New Year’s Day tradition. The Barracudas are part of the European Forces Swim League, which consists of elementary through high-school age swimmers from RAFs Lakenheath and Mildenhall. The team competes against teams from across Europe.
