Keith Mutton, owner of Phoenix Bird Control Service, holds up Spitfire, a Peregrine Falcon used to patrol the airfield as part of the Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard program. Mr. Mutton patrols the airfield every day with a rotating team of falcons, hawks, owls and other tools to scare off birds and avoid bird strikes. In fiscal year 2007, bird strikes cost the Air Force $25 million. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Megan Lyon)
