Morning FOD checks
Airman 1st Class Robert Evans, airfield management operations coordinator, double verifies a spot on the runway isn’t foreign object debris. The Airmen in his organization inspect the runway, taxiways and flightline every morning before aircraft use it. They’re looking for FOD, standing water and surface water. While they’re out and about they also keep an eye out for birds or other wildlife that could present a hazard to flying operations here. Airman Evans is a native of Deltona, Fla.
