Gone, not forgotten: Daughter receives gift from fallen father
Romeo Ovelek, shop owner in the Base Exchange, displays a style of puzzle box similar to the one given to the daughter of fallen U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Taj Sareen, Jan. 19, 2015. Sareen originally ordered a puzzle box for his daughter, Jade, but the gift is thought to have been lost in his tragic, final flight Oct. 21, 2015. When notified of the untimely death of a recognized customer and member of the military family, the box was replaced by the shop owners, with the added engraving, “Daddy loves you always.” (U.S Air Force photo by Senior Airman Nigel Sandridge/Released)
