The RAF Feltwell Veterinary Clinic, which cares for more than 4,000 U.S. servicemembers' pets in the UK, held a grand opening April 19.

The clinic, which is now co-located with the military working dog facility, features a new reception area, three exam rooms, a radiology room and a new surgery suite.

According to Army Capt. Mary Sprangel, base veterinarian, the clinic moved and remodeled to ensure better care was available to military working dogs and U.S. servicemember's animals.

"This building will also make the work environment more efficient for our veterinarians, animal care specialists and staff," said Captain Sprangel.

During the grand opening, the military working dogs performed a demonstration and the animal welfare officer, Yvonne Chadwick, briefed visitors on the services of the animal welfare office. Visitors could also inquire about their pet's vaccinations, passports and update their information.

The veterinary clinic offers a variety of services to include: dog, cat and rabbit vaccinations, micro-chipping, health certificates, and blood work for government owned animals and privately owned animals belonging to U.S. families serving in the UK. Surgeries and radiology exams will become available in the next quarter.

The clinics hours are 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The clinic is closed weekends and holidays and on the last working day of every month for inventory. To make an appointment, call 226-7097, fax 226-7378 or e-mail vet.clinic@lakenheath.af.mil.
