Troop Rewards provides free vacations for 10 Liberty Airmen Published Nov. 23, 2016 By Senior Airman Malcolm Mayfield 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The Troop Rewards program provided more than $50,000 worth of vacations to military families this year. Each family will have the option to take their vacation at one of 14 participating resorts in the U.S.Tom Burkett, Troop Rewards founder, visited the Liberty Wing to personally present the vacation certificates to each Airman.“I’m honored to get to do things like this and meet so many of the wonderful people who serve our country,” Burkett said. “It’s such a treat for me to be here and give out some rest and relaxation vacations to some of the families here.”Troop Rewards, an all-volunteer force, travels to Europe every other year. The organization provides free vacations to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families, to help them re-adjust after a deployment. “This is absolutely incredible,” a 48th FW spouse said. “Having a family vacation completely handled for us is such a great gift. I never imagined someone doing this for us.”
