Liberty Wing participates in RAF Marham annual Friends and Family Day

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England --

Even the second hottest day in England’s recorded history could not stop the show, excited attendees or Liberty Wing Airmen during Royal Air Force Marham’s annual Friends and Families day July 25, 2019.

The Friends and Family Day is about recognizing the dedication of those working at RAF Marham and the support of their family and friends.  RAF Marham extended tickets to 100 Liberty Wing Airmen to attend the show and enjoy its festivities building on the strong relationship between the RAF and the U.S. Air Force.

The 48th Fighter Wing also provided two F-15E Strike Eagles and aircrews to engage with the community alongside their RAF counterparts.

While at the event, the Liberty Wing Airmen showcased the capabilities of the F-15 to local showgoers.

“All the families have been in awe with the Strike Eagle, they get to get up close to it and ask us questions,” said a 494th FS pilot. “It makes me proud to attend events like these, because they allow us to build on our relationship with our RAF allies and the local community.”

The event boasted other attractions such as flying displays consisting of the Typhoon FGR4, Rhin DR 107, Rolls Royce Spitfire and Strikemaster; a formula class car demonstration; and U.K.’s premiere military parachute show, The Falcons.
