The Air Force Recruiting Service is conducting an outreach trip to RAF Lakenheath, England March 12.

This is the first formal visit by AFRS to the 48th Fighter Wing, with the goal to engage the American population and key community members about Total Force education programs and the different Air Force career accession and transfer opportunities as a civilian, enlisted or commissioned officer, either full-time or part-time.

“Total Force Recruiting is about identifying the most talented young people in our society and educating them on all of the amazing opportunities in our Air Force,” said Maj. Gen, Jeannie Leavitt, Air Force Recruiting Service commander.

A morning event will be held at the Liberty Club at 10 a.m. which is open to students, family members, civilians, and Active and Reserve military members to engage with representatives from the United States Air Force Academy, Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Civilian Service, Enlisted Accessions, Line Officer, and Health Professions for Active, Guard, and Reserve.

A second event will be held at Lakenheath High School at 12 p.m. that will be restricted to students only.

“Our goal is to partner with base agencies across the European theater in order to ensure we get the most outreach support as possible,” said Leavitt. “We do not have an overall full-time outreach/recruiting presence in Europe, and thus it is a top priority to establish better long-term ties with schools and key community members.”
