Core Value Portrayed: "Excellence in All We Do"

How does the individual portray that core value?

Cathey portrays the core value of "Excellence in All We Do" by consistently going above and beyond in her job duties. During a time of high turnover, she willingly and whole-heartedly took on two of our biggest programs. She rectified three time compliance technical order write-ups and runs the daily DIFM (due in for maintenance) reconciliation program consisting of approximately 700 supply assets. In addition, she created a management tool that has increased visibility of problem assets, increasing the turn-in rate by 10 percent. Her efforts directly contributed to the 48th LRS receiving a 95 percent rating during the recent 2012 logistics compliance assessment program re-look, receiving zero write-ups between her two programs. Beyond just job performance, her dedication to her wingmen and positive attitude have permeated throughout her section and has set the example for the other Airmen in her shop. Without fail, Cathey has proven over and over again her willingness to give that extra effort to help her co-workers and to guarantee the success of her programs and the work center as a whole.

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?

Serving in the Air Force is important to me because I am protecting my family, friends and all Americans.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?

My accomplishment that I am most proud of would be completing Airman Leadership School. ALS gives you different ways to think and react to situations. It prepares you for what can come in contact with in the future and gives you the tools to handle those types of situations. It also reminds you of how important it is to keep your core values at hand. It teaches you how to be a more professional Airman.

What are your personal and/or professional goals?

My personal goal, as of right now, is my education. My professional goal is making Staff Sergeant.

What is your favorite part of your job?

My favorite part of the job is that there is always something new to learn. Also, I get to work with the great Airmen that we have in the shop.
