Volunteers needed for Community Crosswalk Program

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The long summer days are quickly wrapping up as students head back to school later this month.

In an effort to keep all of our students' safe on their way to and from school, we need help from everyone in the community.

All servicemembers, parents, contractors, U.S. and Ministry of Defence civilian personnel are all eligible to volunteer for the crosswalk program.

Five volunteers are needed twice a day to ensure coverage throughout high traffic areas.

The crosswalks are located at the following pedestrian crossing locations: Housing on Norwich Road (near Liberty Intermediate School), Lakenheath Elementary School round-about, Lord's Walk, and across from the housing office.

Depending on location, the crosswalks are manned from approximately 7:30 to 8:10 and 2:30 to 3:10.
