AUGUST EVENTS

Kids' jewelry party
Kids ages 4 to 12 are invited to create colorful rainbow jewelry at the 48th Avenue Community Activities Center on Aug. 20 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Snacks and drinks will be available. Price is $7 per child. Sign up by Aug. 15. Call 226-4884 for more details.

Pre/post-natal yoga
The fitness center is hosting pre/post-natal yoga classes now through Sept. 9 on Fridays from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The course will remain open for sign up throughout the program. To sign up, visit the fitness center or call 226-3607.

RAF Lakenheath commissary tours
The RAF Lakenheath Commissary will be offer free tours Aug. 19 and Sept. 23 to demonstrate to shoppers how to navigate the building as well as shop for quick, healthy and inexpensive meals. To sign up for a tour, contact the health and wellness center at 226-2710.

Family movie night
Bring the family out to Defenders of Freedom Park on Aug. 20 for a free showing of the movie The Goonies. Show starts at 7 p.m. In the event of rain, the movie will be held inside Page Community Activities Center. For more information, call 226-1627.

Fall bowling leagues
Liberty Lanes Bowling Center is now accepting sign-ups for fall leagues to include mixed doubles, youth, youth and adult; and intramural. Season starts in September. For more information, call Liberty Lanes at 226-2108.

Family movie morning
Page Community Activities Center is hosting a free family movie morning Aug. 23. The line-up includes Fox and the Hound, The Little Mermaid and Lilo & Stitch. Features start at 10:30 a.m. Call 226-1627 for more information.

Volunteers needed for Joan Mann Special Sports Day
RAFs Lakenheath and Mildenhall need volunteers for the 30th Annual Joan Mann Special Sports Day, an invitational sports event for special-needs people across England. USDA Free and Reduced Lunch Program

SOCKS - Spouse On-Line Computer Knowledge and Skills
This is a free Airman and Family Readiness Center program designed to help spouses improve computer skills in Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, Photoshop and many other programs. Call the Airman and Family Readiness Center at 226-3847 for more information.

PLAYpass ... Get Out and Play!
Now through December 31, deployed-affected families and deployed single Airmen will be eligible for the PLAYpass program. The program offers discount cards that provide members and their eligible family members the opportunity to participate in Air Force force support squadron programs for free or at a reduced cost. Crosswalk Volunteers Needed
The school year is about to start. Help the students get to school safely! Depending on location, the crosswalks are manned from approximately 7:30 to 8:10 a.m. and 2:30 to 3:10 p.m. To volunteer, contact the school liaison office at 226-5077 or 226-5078.
