Airman Silva demonstrates continuous improvement and innovation in everything he does. Whether it is service, personal or community service, he always strives to do his absolute best. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? Serving in the Air Force is important to me because it affords me the opportunity to continue a family tradition of service within the US military. Serving in the Air Force also provides me with countless opportunities to further my personal education and professional growth. What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? I am proud of the work that I do providing my customers what they require in a timely and cost efficient manner. I am proud of all the great work the 48th CONS does in support of home base and contingency operations. I am most proud of the fact that we were named US Air Forces Europe Outstanding Contracting Squadron for 2010. What are your personal and/or professional goals? One of my personal goals is to take full advantage of living in Europe by continuing to travel and appreciate all the history these countries provide. My immediate professional goal is to begin taking classes towards attaining my Community College of Air Force degree, as well as continuing online courses to further my career development. What is your favorite part of your job? My favorite part of the contracting career field is the people I get to work with day in and day out. Whether it's co-workers, customers, or contractors, I really enjoy the human aspect of conducting business. Not only the relationships you're able to build with customers, but also the professional relationships built with contractors which come from representing the USAF.
