Senior Airman Smith sets the standard for focused mission accomplishment. He is in early every day, readying the facilities to test engines and aircraft. He is a meticulous trainer who takes the time to teach the new Airmen, ensuring things are done right. The test cell is tied to flightline operations, so we frequently work extended shifts for aircraft testing. He is always the first one to volunteer to come in early or stay late to support the mission. He is a motivated Airman that recognizes the importance of the daily job we do and goes the extra mile to accomplish it. Why is serving in the Air Force important to you? I was raised in a very patriotic family, so serving my nation is something I have always known I wanted to do. I take great pride in my Air Force duties in support of my country. What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of? I feel proud to have been selected to work at the test cell. This is the section that most engine mechanics hope to get to in their careers but few make it. What are your personal and/or professional goals? I am going to make the military my career and hope to one day is be in charge of an engine shop. I want to support my wife as we both go down this military path and be the best husband I can. What is your favorite part of your job? I love to run the engines in full burner on the test stand and watching the jets punch holes in the sky knowing I helped put them there.
