Name:
Staff Sgt. Joshua Skelton

Aircraft Assigned: HH-60 Pave Hawk

Squadron/Unit: 748th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, 56th Helicopter Maintenance Unit

Hometown: Orange County, Calif.

Why did you join the Air Force?
I joined for the opportunity to travel and to get my education.

What do you like most about being a crew chief?
The work load. My Air Force Specialty Code is engine specific, and I have been trained into a crew chief which is a challenge, but one that has been very fulfilling.

What has been your most rewarding moment as a Crew Chief?
Getting assigned as Assistant Dedicated Crew Chief for my aircraft.

For the commander

Why did you nominate this person?
Staff Sgt. Skelton is my only engine shop person assigned as an ADCC. He has completed more than 70 tasks that relate to the crew chief AFSC making him qualified to perform this duty. Even with his assigned aircraft currently deployed, he continues to gain knowledge at home station by involving himself in performing tasks normally assigned to Airframe Propulsion General personnel. His goal is to one day be assigned as a DCC and eventually gain a position as one of the unit's four flying crew chiefs. These positions are reserved for only our best crew chiefs, and I have no doubt he will attain this goal.
