Core Value Portrayed: Airman "Eagle Eyes" Knowles epitomizes the Air Force core value "Excellence in All We Do". On several occasions while inspecting the airfield, Airman Knowles identified hazards and discrepancies that could have resulted in costly or even catastrophic aircraft incidents. While conducting a runway check prior to reopening the runway following the recent construction project, "Eagle Eyes" discovered three small screws. Airman Knowles retrieved the screws from the runway and ensured they were turned in to the foreign object debris manager preventing certain engine or tire damage. Furthermore, while driving around the airfield during a recent joint inspection, "Eagle Eyes" noticed that a mandatory sign was incorrectly marked. Because the sign was not yet permanently installed, Airman Knowles' keen situational awareness enabled the markings to be corrected before the sign was hard-wired into the ground. His dedication to excellence during his daily performance ensures the Liberty Wing's aircraft launch from and recover to the safest airfield possible.

What accomplishment during your Air Force career are you most proud of?
I am really proud of what I did downrange. While I was deployed to Balad Air Base, Iraq, I coordinated weapons storage, billeting and dining facility use for a stranded Iraqi medical evacuation aircrew team.

What are your personal and career goals?
My personal goal is to learn how to speak three different languages.

My professional goal is to become a survival instructor and provide aircrew with the knowledge that could one day save their lives.
