Senior Airman Michael Gorske, 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aerospace ground equipment journeyman, was nominated for the Liberty spotlight by his chain of command because he portrays the Air Force core value of "Excellence in All We Do."

Commander: Maj. Darrin "DB" Dronoff

Time in Service: 2 Years, 6 Months

Time at Lakenheath: 2 Years

Hometown: Carpentersville, Ill.

Hobbies: School, Gaming

Core Value Portrayed: Airman Gorske epitomizes the core value "Excellence in All We Do." I would be lying if I did not say that the one thing that impresses me the most about him is his humble, hardworking demeanor. At work he puts in 110% and never complains...even though I know sometimes he should. The truth is he just keeps his head down, and never seeks attention or glory. Off duty, he works just as hard. If he is not taking classes in pursuit of his CCAF degree, then he is most likely enrolled in a PDC. In fact, if you do not ask him what he is doing you would probably never hear him talk about it. His "nose to the grindstone" attitude truly inspires me. Never once has anything he is involved with negatively impacted the mission, or taken him away from his duties because, to him, the mission always comes first.

Why is serving in the Air Force important to you?
I am the fourth generation of the Gorske family to serve in the military. In joining, I continued a proud family tradition. Also, during a time of war I wanted to do my part and serve my country.

What are your personal and career goals?
Finish my CCAF and continue on with a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Avionics with a minor in Security and Intelligence through Emery Riddle. After that, I would like to be accepted to Officer Training School.
