48th EMS Airman demonstrates Excellence in All We Do Published Aug. 7, 2008 ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Staff Sergeant Daniel E. Tomlin, 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aircraft metals technology journeyman, was nominated for the Liberty spotlight by his chain of command because he practices the Air Force core value of "Excellence in all we do." Commander: Maj. Darrin "DB" Dronoff Time in service: Six years Time at Lakenheath: One year, six months Home town: El Reno, Okla. Hobbies: Working out and Mountain Biking Core Value portrayed: Sergeant Tomlin is a shining example of "Excellence in all we do." Since taking over as swing shift supervisor, he has proven invaluable. During a recent F-15 stabilator replacement, SSgt Tomlin worked extra hours measuring and manufacturing tooling to help determine the reason for the misalignment of the stab and airframe. His efforts were instrumental in getting engineers the information needed for the repair. He also went above and beyond contributing 6 hours in the inaugural Senior Airman Jason D. Nathan 24-hour remembrance run enabling the squadron to accomplish a total of 204 miles. His dedication was an inspiration to others and helped promote esprit de corps throughout the squadron. Sergeant Tomlin's determination and sacrifice exemplify the Air Force core values. Why is serving important to you? The most important reason for me to serve my country is because I am following in my family's footsteps. What are your personal and career goals?
