Airman and Family Readiness Center October - November courses Financial foundations Financial foundations training is Nov. 2, 9, 16 and 30 from 8 to 9 a.m. The money management class includes credit and debt management, goal setting, budgeting, and basic investing. Newcomer's bus tour A newcomer's bus tour is Nov. 2, 16, and 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The tour includes visiting the historical town of Bury St. Edmunds, the cathedral, eating in a pub, shopping and free time to explore. The tour on 9 November will be to Duxford Imperial War Museum. Four-day transition assistance workshop A 4-day TAP workshop is Oct. 27 to 30 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to write effective resumes and cover letters, interviewing techniques and successful job search methods. Pet scoop A pet scoop class is Nov. 21 from 3 to 5 p.m. The class provides pet specialists to answer questions regarding transportation requirements for pets and to assist military families in properly planning for the shipment of pets. Employment connections An employment connections course is Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to noon. This class will instruct on the local labor market and what jobs are available on and off base. Personnel specialists will be available to answer questions concerning hiring procedures. Resume writing and interview techniques A resume writing and interview techniques class is Oct. 31 from 9 to 11 a.m. The class teaches basic resume formatting with sample resumes as well as interviewing skills and techniques. Pre separation briefing A pre-separation briefing is Nov. 6 and 20 from 9 to 11 a.m. and Nov. 13 and 27 from 1 to 3 p.m. The class fulfills the mandatory requirement for all personnel retiring or separating from the military. Sponsorship training Sponsorship training is Nov. 5 from 9 to 11 a.m. All first time active duty sponsors and those who have not had training in over a year are required to attend sponsorship training. The training reviews the basic requirements of sponsorship and provides useful resources to better assist the newcomer. Movie Maker 101 A Movie Maker 101 class is Nov. 28 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. The class teaches how to use several computer-based movie making programs. Key spouse training A key spouse training course is Nov. 1 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. This training provides guidance on the responsibilities and expectations associated with being a key spouse as well as familiarizing spouses with base resources.
