Airman and Family Readiness Center July courses Pre-separation briefing A pre-separation briefing is Aug. 7 and 21 from1-3p.m., and Aug. 14 and 28 from 9-11 a.m. This class fulfills the mandatory requirement for all personnel retiring or separating from the military. Key spouse training A key spouse training course is Aug. 2 from 1-2:30 p.m. This training provides guidance on the responsibilities and expectations associated with being a key spouse as well as familiarizing spouses with base resources. Financial foundations Financial foundations training is Aug 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 8-9 a.m. The money management class includes goal setting, budgeting, credit and debt management and basic investing. The newcomer's bus tour A newcomer's bus tour is Aug 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The tour includes visiting the historical town of Bury St. Edmunds, the cathedral, eating in a pub, shopping and free time to explore. The tour on Aug. 10 will be to Duxford Imperial War Museum. Sponsorship training Sponsorship training is Aug. 13 from 1-3 p.m. All first time active duty sponsors and those who have not had training in over a year are required to attend sponsorship training. The training reviews the basic requirements of sponsorship and provides useful resources to better assist the newcomer. Bundles for babies A bundles for babies course is Aug. 10 from 9 a.m. to noon. This is an educational program for expectant parents, which focuses on budgeting for a baby, bonding with your baby, WIC Overseas Office and childcare options. Employment connections An employment connections course is Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon. This class will instruct on the local labor market and what jobs are available on and off base. Personnel specialists will be available to answer questions concerning hiring procedures. 4-day transition assistance program workshop A 4-day TAP workshop is Aug. 21-24 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to write effective resumes and cover letters, interviewing techniques and successful job search methods. Pet scoop A pet scoop class is Aug. 15 from 3-5 p.m. The class provides pet specialists to answer questions regarding transportation requirements for pets and to assist military families in properly planning for the shipment of pets. Resume writing and interview techniques A resume writing and interview techniques class is Aug. 29 from 9-11 a.m. The class teaches basic resume formatting with sample resumes as well as interviewing skills and techniques.
