Fourth of July Celebration
The Fourth of July celebration is July 4 noon-midnight at RAF Feltwell. There will be games, food and beverages and carnival style rides. The celebration is open to the public. Participants will be transfrisked prior to entry.

Post office hours
The Lakenheath post office is open 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 3 and noon to 5 p.m. July 5. The facility will be closed July 4. For more information call 226-1349.


Extreme Summer Pool Shark Tournament
A pool tournament is noon July 1 at 48th Avenue Community Center. For more information, call 226-4884.

FMO closure
The Furnishings Management Office will be closed July 4. For more information, call 226-7154.

Deployed spouse's dinner
A deployed spouse's dinner at the Knight's Table dining facility is July 19 from 4:30-7 p.m. The dinner is free for all spouses and children of deployed personnel.

Microsoft Certification Program
Central Texas College is offering an opportunity for students to prepare for Microsoft and Comp TIA Certification exams, while receiving a free 30 GB Apple iPOD. The iPOD will have all necessary accessories and be loaded with the software to complete your courses. For more information, visit the CTC office at the Education Center or call 226-3507.

WIC Overseas
Women, Infants and Children Overseas offers free milk, infant formula and other foods to eligible families. WIC staff can answer questions about breast-feeding, starting solids and any other questions. For more information, call 226-1728.

Breast-feeding support group
A breastfeeding support group meets on the forth Thursday of the month at 11 a.m. at the Lakenheath WIC Overseas Office, Bldg 950. For more information, call 226-1728.

Animal welfare officer
The animal welfare officer handles all pet concerns. The AWO provides education and information on owning a pet on a military installation. For more information, call the pet welfare office at 226-5796.


Airman and Family Readiness Center July courses

Pre-separation briefing
A pre-separation briefing is July 3, 17 and 31 from 9-11 a.m., and July 10 and 24 from 1-3p.m. This class fulfills the mandatory requirement for all personnel retiring or separating from the military.

Key spouse training
A key spouse training course is July 5 from 1-2:30 p.m. This training provides guidance on the responsibilities and expectations associated with being a key spouse as well as familiarizing spouses with base resources.

Financial foundations
Financial foundations training is July 6, 13, 20 and 27 from 8-9 a.m. The money management class includes goal setting, budgeting, credit and debt management and basic investing.

The newcomer's bus tour
A newcomer's bus tour is July 6, 20, and 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The tour includes visiting the historical town of Bury St. Edmunds, the cathedral, eating in a pub, shopping and free time to explore. The tour on July 13 will be to Duxford Imperial War Museum.

Sponsorship training
Sponsorship training is July 9 from 1-3 p.m. All first time active duty sponsors and those who have not had training in over a year are required to attend sponsorship training. The training reviews the basic requirements of sponsorship and provides useful resources to better assist the newcomer.

Money personalities
A money personalities class is July 12 from 1-2:30 p.m. This class will teach about healthy spending habits and how this affects relationships.

Bundles for babies
A bundles for babies course is July 13 from 9 a.m. to noon. This is an educational program for expectant parents, which focuses on budgeting for a baby, bonding with your baby, WIC Overseas Office and childcare options.

Employment connections
An employment connections course is July 16 from 9 a.m. to noon. This class will instruct on the local labor market and what jobs are available on and off base. Personnel specialists will be available to answer questions concerning hiring procedures.

4-day transition assistance program workshop
A 4-day TAP workshop is July 17-20 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants will learn how to write effective resumes and cover letters, interviewing techniques and successful job search methods.

Investing in your relationship
An investing in your relationship course is July 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The hands-on workshop provides spouses or significant others with tools to weather stormy relationship moments.

Senior transition assistance program workshop
A senior TAP workshop is July 24-26 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Senior TAP is for E-8 and O-4 and above.

How to deter, detect and defend against identity theft
A how to deter, detect and defend against identity theft class is July 25 from 6-7:30 p.m. The class teaches how to defend from identity theft, and what to do if identity has been stolen.

Pet scoop
A pet scoop class is July 18 from 3-5 p.m. The class provides pet specialists to answer questions regarding transportation requirements for pets and to assist military families in properly planning for the shipment of pets.

Job fair
A job fair is July 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Galaxy Club on RAF Mildenhall.

Resume writing and interview techniques
A resume writing and interview techniques class is July 25 from 9-11 a.m. The class teaches basic resume formatting with sample resumes as well as interviewing skills and techniques.
