Weber 48th Fighter Wing Public Affairs ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- The East Anglia Housing Office held a town hall meeting at the Strike Eagle Complex for service members and their families that are base housing residents at Royal Air Forces Feltwell, Mildenhall and Lakenheath, or military housing in nearby Ely, Dec. 2. The meeting covered holiday safety precautions, illegal trash-dumping and the turnover of Lord's Walk housing to private owners. Members from the 48th Civil Engineer Squadron Fire Department and the 48th Security Forces Squadron briefed the group on different tips to keep Airmen and their families safe from Christmas tree fires, deep-fryer fires, and auto and home burglaries. Ashley Sadorra, 48th CES environmental elements chief, also discussed the issue of illegal dumping, also known as fly-tipping, that has been taking place in base housing. Residents were reminded that the RAF Lakenheath recycling center is open Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m. and Saturday, 7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. The center collects cardboard, plastics, glass, metal, brown paper bags, unsoiled clothes and shoes; however, it doesn't take tires, household garbage or any type of hazardous waste. The recycling center is located in Bldg. 1138 on Cambridge Road. Items the base center can't take can be disposed of at the closest county recycling center. The Mildenhall Recycling Center is near Fiveways Roundabout on Brandon Road. The post code is IP28 7JQ.
