Fresh look at Independence Day

We Saxons are a family, but from different walks of life.
Please take some time to read this rhyme; it may even save a life.
A three day weekend is looming; you may plan to celebrate and swing,
Whatever you do, don't drink and drive; you may taste the bitter sting.

Do you plan to celebrate the Fourth of July - to really light up the sky?
Then see the Feltwell firework display; it's illegal to just let them fly.
No fireworks in government housing; keeps the family safe at play.
Having a red hot barbeque? Keep pets and children safe out of the way.

Take care when you are driving, do not speed or attempt to dash;
It is precisely this type of action that causes speed cameras to flash.
Police watch for dangerous driving, as you talk on your mobile phone;
Is the family safely belted in; if not, you may not all get safely home!

Life is full of choices; so assess all the risks and think
The weather is hot and humid; should I accept that extra drink?
Has my judgment been impaired, to make the Wingman's call?
Has my action in any way, caused another warrior to fall?

So take a short moment to plan for the three days ahead;
Take a fresh look at "Independence Day" without losing your head;
Enjoy the time with friends or kin, but don't be afraid to speak;
Make what is termed the "smart call," and return back safe next week.
