No survivors: Zombies attack RAF Lakenheath

ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Adam Hardin, 5, and aspiring young zombie, is prepped for maximum fright factor prior to the RAF Lakenheath Survival Challenge Oct. 19, 2012. More than 100 base personnel volunteered to be undead during the run hosted by Lib 5/6, RAF Lakenheath's E-5 and E-6 private organization. Runners were released in groups of 8 to 15 through a base-wide course filled with peril. Their objective was to finish the run with at least one of their three "lives" remaining. The zombies were classed by speed; "crawlers" were slow, "lurchers" were a medium speed and "the infected" were sprinters. The event mixed fun and fitness with the spirit of Halloween.
