Lakenheath Airmen respond to emergency exercise
ROYAL AIR FORCE LAKENHEATH, England -- Senior Airman Patrick Whaley, 48th Security Forces Squadron patrolman, removes a victim from the area, during an emergency response and mass casualty exercise, June 8, 2011. Airmen from the 48th Fighter Wing responded to the incident after a simulated fuel line ruptured, spilling more than 15,000 gallons of jet fuel and causing a collision between a bus, a privately owned vehicle and a group of Airmen participating in physical training. The purpose of the exercise was to validate and evaluate multiple procedures when responding to such a scenario. (U.S. Air Force photo /Tech. Sgt. Lee A. Osberry Jr.)
