Waste and water treatment

Patrick Goddard, 48th Civil Engineer Squadron Waste and Water Treatment operator, hoses down a waste tank to avoid septic shock, August 6, 2009, at RAF Lakenheath, England. This prevents scum and other unwanted fluids from being returned to the environment. The waste and water plant cleans the water by passing it through several treatment and filtration processes before reintroducing it into the environment. (U.S. Air Force photo/Cassie Coleman)
