Freshly painted F-15A rolls out at Duxford Museum
Richard Ashton, the Imperial War Museum Duxford director, expresses his thanks to the 48th Fighter Wing and the 18 volunteers who repainted an F-15A aircraft for display at the museum June 5, 2009. The Airmen from RAF Lakenheath’s 48th Equipment Maintenance Squadron corrosion control flight, volunteered approximately 70 hours each of off-duty time over a period of eight weeks to restore the aircraft to its original 5th Fighter Intercept Squadron markings.
