Taps is played following a remembrance ceremony for the 490th Bombardment Group in Eye, England, Aug. 9, 2015. Taps, unique to the U.S. military, is played at burial and memorial services, to accompany the lowering of the flag and to signal the “lights out” command at day’s end.
